KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The Cabinet will soon grant Kuwaiti citizenship to about 300 individuals based on the provision of noble activities, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting informed sources.

They said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah provided the list of deserving candidates that include 26 highly qualified doctors and university staff members.

The sources said the list will be discussed by the Cabinet shortly after the relevant committee ensured that the candidates met the required conditions for attaining Kuwaiti citizenship such as inclusion in the 1965 census and absence of criminal records and security concerns.

Meanwhile, sources indicated that Ministry of Defense presented the names of 500 military officers who participated in Arab wars and war for liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion, and their family members.

They revealed that the 500 names include a number of retired military officers as well as deceased military officers whose children will gain the citizenship on behalf of their fathers.
