Bullet fired by border securitymen ‘hits’ Bangladeshi shepherd

KUWAIT CITY, May 10: A Bangladeshi camel herder was shot in his right leg while he was tending to camels in Al-Adrei area. Investigations revealed that the bullet was fired by land border securitymen during a training session and hit the camel herder by mistake.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the shooting incident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location along with an air ambulance. After they discovered that the camel herder was shot in his right leg, paramedics referred him to Jahra Hospital.

During investigation, the control room of land border security department was contacted. It was revealed then that the shot was fired by border securitymen while they were undergoing training using live ammunition.

Meanwhile, a security source has denied rumors circulating in social media websites that an unidentified youth was murdered during a brawl on Love Street, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, it was just a fight among some youths because of someone staring at a person from another group. The daily added, acting on information a police force was sent to the spot and the fight was controlled and those involved were taken into custody one of them allegedly suffering from epilepsy.
