Bid to smuggle marijuana by Saudi passenger foiled

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 14: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport foiled the attempt of a Saudi passenger coming aboard a flight from Amsterdam to smuggle marijuana into the country, reports Al- Rai daily.
The Saudi who appeared confused when he approached the inspection was, with his baggage, referred for a thorough check and inspectors found three sachets of marijuana hidden among his clothes.
In another unrelated incident, the Al-Anba daily said customs officers have also arrested an Arab passenger for attempting to smuggle hashish filled inside two cigarettes. The contraband and the two passengers have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control
