A huge quantity of cigarette cartons were seized at the border by the CustomsKUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: A GCC national was arrested at Nuwaiseeb border checkpoint for attempting to smuggle 141 cartons of cigarettes out of the country in order to benefit from the difference in price, reports Al- Anba daily.According to security sources, the suspect attempted to take advantage of the heavy rain in order to smuggle the contraband but customs officers at the border checkpoint inspected his car thoroughly and found the cigarette cartons hidden in secret compartments within his car. He was arrested and referred with the contraband to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
