Bid to privatize airport, telephone service

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: A feasibility study is being carried out concerning the privatization of Kuwait International Airport and telephone service, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.

They said a plan was formed regarding the facilities that the government wants to privatize, after some provisions in the privatization Law No. 37/2010 were amended. The sources affirmed that the time scheduling for the privatization of the intended facilities including Kuwait International Airport and the telephone service will also be carried out.

They revealed that the facilities targeted for privatization also includes North Shuaiba Station, indicating the efforts currently being exerted by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor for moving the fi le of the Supreme Council for Privatization as a step towards the issuance of the privatization decisions by the Cabinet.
