KUWAIT CITY, March 26: The Director of Charity Societies and Charity Associations Department, Abdulaziz Al-Ajmi has warned citizens and residents against exploiting the month to make undue profits especially the restaurants, shops and commercial companies by promoting fictitious charity projects and calling on kind hearted people to contribute towards the fasting projects, reports Al- Qabas daily. In a press statement, Al-Ajmi noted that the Ministry of Social Affairs does not give companies, restaurants and shops any license that allows them to engage in such activities. He stressed Ramadan projects are carried out through legal channels through charity associations and societies only in accordance with the laws regulating them and under ministry supervision.

He added, the Ministry will take all legal measures against those who violate the rules and regulations. The ministry monitors all such actions in all governorates. The Tarawih and Qiyam prayers this year will not be held in the main prayer hall of the Grand Mosque, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources from the Ministry of Awqaf. Sources revealed the main prayer hall is undergoing maintenance, so the above mentioned prayers will be held in the small prayer hall. Sources said setting up tents outside the mosques will be allowed, in coordination with Kuwait Municipality, but they will not be used for prayers. Sources added these tents will be for those who will break their fast, indicating meals will be distributed in the outer squares.
