Barrak assaulter committed ‘suicide’

KUWAIT CITY, March 13: Reports have emerged that the inmate who assaulted former MP Musallam Al-Barrak was found dead in a manner that appeared as though he committed suicide by hanging himself, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to sources, the inmate was serving a two-year jail sentence for drug consumption and peddling. They affirmed that the corpse has been referred to the Forensics Department, revealing that the Central Prison Administration has launched an extensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Cop dancing at sea: An unidentified policeman in uniform who was seen dancing on a beach presumably under the influence of alcohol has been arrested and referred to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after several beachgoers called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry. At the time of arrest the man in uniform was drunk.

Traffic officer beaten: A fireman physically assaulted and verbally abused a traffic officer in the course of his duty in Hawalli area, says Al- Seyassah. A security source said traffic officer was on a round of the aforementioned area when he saw a Kuwaiti lady violating traffic law. He ordered the lady to stop for questioning and then issued a citation against her. In the course of the event, the fireman pulled up beside the traffic officer and pleaded on behalf of the lady citizen to cancel the citation, and when the traffic officer refused, the traffic man abused him physically and verbally.
