Ban on live birds

KUWAIT CITY, June 1:  The Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) has issued a decision to ban the import of all kinds of live birds and its products from the Republic of Lebanon, because of the emergence of highly pathogenic avian influenza “H5N1”, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director- General of PAAAFR the decision is precautionary and taken in the best interest of the consumers. He added, the decision is in line with the reports issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), which has reported of an outbreak of bird flu in Lebanon
