Bait Al-Othman Museum holds Glass Fest Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: Glass sculpture is not a new art, but rather dates back to thousands of years and is considered a form of decoration. However, with the passage of time, it has evolved at the hands of skilled artists to turn into charming artistic sculptures that grab attention after forming using special ovens, including what is fixed and mobile.

On Monday, Bait Al-Othman Museum witnessed a live show of glass sculpture presented by international artist Philip Vinson in an event titled “Glass Fest Kuwait” organized by “Yadawi” in cooperation with the Abdul Salem Cultural Center and the US Embassy, to form the first of workshops held for the first time in the State of Kuwait and the Gulf using the unit of hot ovens.

During the period from October 15 to December 15, there will be a series of training courses offered by international artists to train Kuwaiti youth who love this art using modern techniques for glass carving. The center, which was founded by Muhammad Al-Duwaisan and Lubna Abbas, aims to develop resources with purely national hands, invest in the youth category, and establish a generation of new manufacturers in melting and forming glass, in addition to other arts.(KUNA)
