Awqaf Undersecretary granted right to sign contracts worth KD 3 million

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: Ministry of Awqaf Undersecretary Fareed Emadi has been granted several administrative and financial prerogatives and authorities by the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Minister of State for Municipality Affairs Fahad Al-Shu’lah, reports Al-Rai daily.

The prerogatives were granted due to an approach from the undersecretary. The decision No. 518/2019 contained certain regulations such as empowering the undersecretary the right of retrenching support and technical staff who are not at the supervisory cadres, in coordination with Civil Service Commission, for the public interest.

The undersecretary can also assign duties to employees below the supervisor cadres within the country and issue decisions for the disbursement of funds to participants in training programs in line with the rules and regulations.

He can send employees on additional assignments over and above their primary assignments, in line with Civil Service Commission rules. He can as well sign contracts worth around KD 500,000 to the maximum of KD 3 million, and delegate his immediate subordinate to take up those tasks and prerogatives
