KUWAIT CITY, June 18: Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has started disbursing salaries to the cleaners and security guards of the mosques affiliated to Capital Mosques Department, reports Aljarida daily quoting informed sources. They affirmed that the ministry took this action after the company from which these laborers were hired deliberately delayed in giving them their salaries for many months.

The sources revealed that the ministry received 200 workers from morning until the end of the official working hours for giving them their salaries. It is worth mentioning that the laborers who work in various utilities and sites affiliated to Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs had carried out strikes at those sites to protest the delay in disbursement of their salaries for many months.

Meanwhile, shift allowance will be disbursed to employees of the Control Tower and Radar systems in the coming few days, reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable sources from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). They revealed that the value of the shift allowance will be up to KD 219 per employee based on the grade and functional designation as part of the allowances granted by DGCA to employees based on the terms and conditions of Civil Service Commission (CSC).
