‘Assaulters’ to face legal action

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The Directorate General of Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry said the suspects in the beating incident at the Salmi border post have been released after two days of detention but legal measures are being taken against them, reports Al-Anba daily.

Earlier it was mentioned that the victim was assaulted by the ‘soldiers’ manning the post when he arrived at the entry point from Saudi Arabia with his mother, aunt and younger brother following what the sources said ‘arguments’ between the victim and the securitymen.

The victim was allegedly beaten in front of his aunt and mother and according to an eyewitness the alleged suspects refused to give him first aid. Without going into more details, the daily said the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution
