Asian liquor peddlers held; Many drifters nabbed

KUWAIT CITY, March 12: Two Asian expatriates were arrested in Salmiya area in possession of 40 bottles of locally manufactured liquor, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling Salmiya area at night when they suspected a vehicle with two occupants and ordered the driver to pull over. They checked the details of the two individuals to discover they are Asian expatriates. Sensing their nervousness, securitymen checked their vehicle and found the liquor bottles in the truck.

Many drifters nabbed: Ahmadi securitymen seized a number of vehicles in Sabahiya and Jaber Al-Ali area during a campaign against reckless drivers, says Al-Seyassah. The campaign was launched based on instructions from the Assistant Undersecretary for General Security Affairs. According to security sources, the motorists were caught when they tried to run away. Citations were issued against them after which they were detained in traffic custody.
