Asian held with local liquor bags

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: An Indian expatriate was arrested in Salmiya area in possession of 35 bags of local-made liquor. A security source said officers on routine patrol in the aforementioned area saw the suspect standing in front of a building, and he tried to run away when the officers approached him for checking. He then confessed hiding 35 bags of liquor behind one vehicle during questioning. He was arrested and referred to concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, three Indians were arrested by Hawalli security operatives for stealing copper cables from power generators. A security source said officers on a round of the area spotted the suspects near a power generator and approached them for questioning. However, at the sight of the officers, the suspects tried to flee the location but they were chased and arrested in possession of stolen copper cables. They confessed to stealing from several power generators, and also said they were at the location waiting for a vehicle to transport them alongside the stolen copper cables.
