Asian expat mugged, phone, cash stolen

KUWAIT CITY, April 29: An unknown individual attacked an Asian expatriate and robbed him of his mobile phone and KD 250 in Hawally area. According to security sources, the victim went to Hawally Police Station and reported that an unknown individual dressed in casual wear stopped him and asked to make a cal from his mobile phone.

When he refused, the suspect attacked him and took his mobile phone and wallet, which contained his identity documents and KD 250 cash, before fleeing from the location. Using the description of the suspect provided by the victim, securitymen have launched investigations to find and arrest the suspect.

Meanwhile, an unknown individual broke the window of an Egyptian expatriate’s vehicle, which was parked in Salmiya area, and stole some documents belonging to the company where the Egyptian works, along with some other items.

When securitymen received information about the theft, officers from the General Department for Criminal Evidences rushed to the location and collected evidences and fingerprints. A case was registered and investigations have begun to identify and arrest the suspect.

Security officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested two employees working for the customs department for impersonating detectives and entering a restricted area, reports Al-Rai daily. The employees were arrested at the departure gate while searching passengers and checking their documents. They have been referred for interrogation.
