Arms found in Andalus sewers

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: Ministry of Interior has announced that the weapons including two machine guns and bullets found in the sewage system in Andalus area are remnants of the Iraqi invasion, says Al-Seyassah.

Reports had circulated on social media concerning the discovery of weapons in a lot in Andalous area. In response to these reports, the ministry had issued the statement, affirming that necessary steps were taken to deal with the weapons.

Meanwhile, personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints from the vehicle after an unknown thief broke into the vehicle of an Asian and stole KD 150, reports Al-Anba daily.

He told police the incident happened in Saad Al-Abdullah. And, a Kuwaiti citizen who is wanted by law for embezzlement was arrested near a cooperative society in Abdullah Al-Mubarak area.

According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling the area when they suspected the individual and checked his details to discover he was sentenced in absentia to two-year imprisonment in an embezzlement case. He was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
