Alghanim Industries concludes activities in annual confab of NUKS USA branch

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: Alghanim Industries, one of the largest private companies in the region concluded its sponsorship for the 32nd annual conference of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS) USA branch, which took place from of Nov 25-28 in San Diego, California, under the slogan “Awakening Kuwait’s Dream”.

The conference was attended by the Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Dr Bader Al-Essa, and Ambassador of Kuwait in the United States, HE Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah, and Ambassador of the United States in Kuwait, HE Douglas Silliman, as well as a number of Kuwait National Assembly members and representatives of a number of private sector companies.

As part of the conference activities, Alghanim Industries hosted a special workshop entitled “Steer Your Career” to a group of merit scholars with varied majors studying in the United States, where company representatives introduced them to Alghanim Industries and presented career advice that will help them professionally, such as time management, goal setting, and writing a good resume. The team also shared some of their personal stories from their vast career experiences. They also showcased the “Alghanim Industries Future Leaders Program” (AFLP), a program that extends over 12 months, and is designed to provide recent, high-potential Kuwaiti graduates with a comprehensive introduction to the different businesses and support functions in Alghanim Industries and includes world-class training and development activities. The program is comprised of four months of training and workshops, a one month-long business-based project, and seven months of job rotations and assignments across the company.

Senior Director — Corporate Strategy, BD, and M&A at Alghanim Industries, Dari Al-Reshaid Al-Bader said: “I had the pleasure of participating once again at the NUKS — USA conference. Every year when Alghanim Industries sponsors this conference, we meet many of our special students, where we have the opportunity to guide them towards careers that are best suited for them. Education plays an important role on the development of the economy and finding creative solutions to the challenges facing us today, this is what we appreciate and what we practice at Alghanim Industries.”

 Alghanim Industries also participated in the career fair, held before the opening ceremony of the conference, where representatives of the company were present to answer students’ questions about the company and job opportunities. Dari Al-Bader was part of the judging panel that evaluated the participants of the ‘Business Startup’ competition, taking place during the conference, with Tareq Al-Saleh AGM Investments Consumer Banking at Gulf Bank. Alghanim Industries also sponsored the seminar “A Star Every Day” moderated by student Ali Al-Fadalah, from 228, the popular “Snapchat” group, engaged in a dialogue in which he interviewed the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Bader Al-Essa, Abdulwahhab Al-Muzaini, member of the Board of Trustees in Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority, and the student Fahad Al-Mutairi.
