KUWAIT CITY, May 23: The late Hussein Al-Roumi Team achieved a big and surprising win over Gulf Cables on the sixth day of the 39th edition of the late Abdullah Mishari Al- Roudan Football Tournament (Futsal). The sixth day of the Ramadan tournament commenced with the excellent performance of Switch, which played against the late Saad Al-Rashedi Team. The match ended with a twogoal win in favor of the Switch.

The goals were scored by Brazilian Liyandro and Ibrahim Sami who broke the spell of Al-Rashidi’s goalkeeper — Yousef Al-Shirazi who saved his time from a heavy defeat. The second match of the day witnessed a goalless draw between Iraq’s Al-Medmar and University of Wolverhampton. In the third match, the hopes of Gulf Cables were shattered after the unexpected defeat from the late Hussein Al-Roumi Team in a match which ended with two goals to one.

The two goals of the late Hussein Al-Roumi Team were scored by Brazilian JafiRodriguez and Mauro Kana, and the goal for Gulf Cables was scored by Brazilian David. The Gulf Cables professional futsal player and top scorer in Russia’s futsal tournaments surrendered to the tough marking by the opponent and this made him unable to save his team from its first defeat.

The second round of the group stages continues today. Al-Qairwan Optics hopes to achieve its first win in its match against BMW which came from a sweeping victory in the first round of the group stage. Also, Kuwait Credit Bank is striving to qualify for the knockout round at the expense of Kazma youths, whereas Bahrain’s Al-Hadd Club is expected not to commit any mistake in its match against Mani Group.

In the amateur category, Jahra pulled a difficult victory with a goal against Dream Academy, whereas Kazma (A) defeated Football Stars by two goals to one. In the final match of the day, the victory went to Victoria defeating Futures Academy by three goals to one. Today’s matches will be between Jahra Stars vs Super Hatrick, Hussein Abul Center will clash with Young Stars, while Sedan Academy will face Tadamoun Club
