KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: Sacrifices by the medical and nursing staff continue in order to combat the COVID-19 virus and limit its spread. Kuwait recently lost a doctor of Al-Salaam Health Center Aisha Al-Awadhi to this virus, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to informed sources, Dr. Al-Awadhi contracted the virus during her work on the front-lines in testing the public at the clinic. After she was infected, she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit in a hospital about a month ago where she remained until she died this Tuesday due to severe complications.

In the same context, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad appreciated the efforts exerted by the medical personnel in the front-line of defense in their confrontation with this pandemic.

He said, "We honor at this time the martyr of duty Dr. Aisha Abdul Wahid Al-Awadhi, who died as a result of COVID-19 infection".

Users of social media sites mourned the passing away of Dr. Al-Awadhi on various platforms, recalling the sacrifices made by the medical teams and other workers on the front-lines in the face of the pandemic since last February.
