9 deaths; 1,043 new COVID infections

KUWAIT CITY, Jul 20: Kuwait Ministry of Health Tuesday registered 9 coronavirus-related deaths, of them 9 not vaccinated, while recording 1,043 infections in the past 24 hours. Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, in a statement to KUNA, said total deaths reached 2,247 and registered infections topped 387,912. He added that 1,317 people recovered in the past 24 hours to reach a total of 369,737, adding that recovery-to-infections ration was 95.31 percent. Al-Sanad said there were 323 Covid-19 patients in the intensive care units, while 15,928 people were receiving medical care. He added there were 1,145 patients in hospitals. He said total swab tests reached 3,264,442, and infection-to-swab ration was 7.94 percent. Al-Sanad said percentages of infections in Ahmadi governorate was 35%, Hawally 27%, Farwaniya 13%, Jahra 13% and Capital 12%. He called on the public to abide by health regulations including physical distancing.
