KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The 2nd week of the elimination for this tourney is getting hotter and hotter as more players came and joined the fun at the Nasser Sports Complex last Friday. The atmosphere was warm, happy and vibrant as all the players started their New Year right by getting fit and healthy and at the same time enjoying the game, the camaraderie and the unity that FILBACK imbibes.

This week the players showed their prowess by competing against each other. In the Level C Category we have a new set of toppers -- Liza Delos Pobres with 357 points and Gerald with 346 points.

In the Level D Category the new leading players are Thursday Bunyi with 392 points and Kingsheen with 347 points. There is no stopping for the FILBACK players as they race to the top.

This tournament was brought to us by the Filipino Badminton Club in Kuwait - FILBACK, headed by their overall tournament Director Noel Candolesas and tournament Directors Nato Calanog and Alex Hernandez together with their officers and members who are dedicated and keen on making sure that games will go on smoothly.

As the players spar in rotation their points will be totaled for the ranking. As for the scoring its 50 points for the winner in 2 set game while the losing team is the sum of the score they got. As for the 3 set game 42 points for the winner the losing team will have the sum of 21 points and their score in the 3rd set.

In the Higher A Category the players who are in top rank are Pushkaraj with 355 points and Victor Toledo with 330 points. While in the Lower A Category players who came out strongest are Roger Jimenes with 351 points and Gino Gaytano with 345 points.

During the game Pushkaraj and Roy flattened Edison and Bernard 21-20, 21-13. Puskaraj and Henry lost to Mathew and Joenel 14-21, 15-21, 18-21. Mathew and Victor smashed Nestor and Allan 21-15, 21-11. Bernard and Puskaraj prevailed against Arjay and Roy 9-21, 21-10, 21-18. Victor and Edison was defeated by Puskaraj and Allan 17-21,16-21. VIctor and Allan were beaten by Joenel and Edsion 12-21, 21-15, 15-21 while Victor and Joenel outclassed Edison and Allan 21-14, 21-17.

Level B

In the Higher B Category, Chato Guillermo with 356 points and Aleks Hernandez with 355 points have taken the lead. Alek and Tarek lose to John and James Barry 19-21, 21-12, 16-21. Chato and Romeo T. outclassed Sripad and Addy 21-19, 21-20. Chato and Sripad outlasted Addy and James Barry 10-21, 21-13, 21-20. Aleks and Addy overcame John and Tarek 15-21, 21-13, 21-15. Aleks and Neil defeated Ainur and Jean 21-16, 21-20. Chato and James Barry clobbered Fred and Romeo T. 21-17, 21-9 as Aleks and Adrian prevailed against Tarek and Friend 21-16, 19-21, 21-19.

Meanwhile in the Lower B Category the top players are Manik Yousef with 383 points and Brent Penaranda with 367 points. Manik and Lukman pummeled Abby and Ginard 21-8, 21-9. Brent and Roemo L. Thrashed Heidi and Yohan 21-15, 21-12.

Manik and Renz slammed Heidi and Albert 21-16, 21-17. Manik and Yohan lose to Lukman and Heidi 21-15, 17-21, 20-21 while Brent and April outlasted Romeo L. and Rachit 17-21, 21-11, 21-13. Manik and Brent thumped Glyza and Lukman 21-16, 21-11 while Brent and Albert slammed Abby and Yohan 21-20, 21-15.

Level C

In the Higher C Category the new reigning Divas are Liza delos Pobres with 357 points and Reem Hussain with 354 points. Reem and Rachit outclassed Maridel and Arfit 21-18, 21-20. Liza and Beck overcame Arfit and Rachit 21-6, 10-21, 21-16. Liza and Arfit thumped Amor and Rachit 21-11, 21-19. Liza and Amor were beaten by Kenneth and Ginard 14-21, 21-17, 12-21.

Reem and Leonor were outlasted by Rachit and Kenneth 21-19, 17-21, 18-21. Reem and Apol were defeated by Ginard and George 7-21, 16-21 while Reem and Emily beaten Beck and Maridel 21-14, 21-20. Liza and Ginard slammed Maridel and George 21-18, 21-15 as Reem and Maridel edge out Liza and George 21-20, 21-20.

Meanwhile in the Lower C Category new winners Gerald with 346 points and Joy Agaloos with 341 points dominated the scene. Gerald and JC prevailed against Rega and Jory 21-14, 17-21, 21-18. Gerald and Sally lose to Eugene and Ninette 18-21, 21-12, 18-21. Joy and Aurora were thumped by Florievee and Anne 21-14, 16-21, 19-21 as Joy and Anne R.were beaten by Kathlyn and Aurora 19-21, 19-21.

Gerald and Ninette pummeled Florievee and Aried 21-18, 21-11. Gerald and Reina won against Anne and Aries 21-13, 19-21, 21-16 as Ninette and Jory were thrashed by Joy and Florievee 19-21, 21-13, 14-21.

Level D

In the Higher D Category the princesses of the courts are Thursday Bunyi with 392 points and Karen Bunyi with 322 points. While in the Lower D Category the Kings of the courts are Kingsheen with 347 points and Donz Murillo with 347 points. King and Laura clobbered Ross and Remy 21-7, 21-5 and pummeled Ross and Karen 21-8, 21-6 while King and Arman lose to Marju and Laura 5-21, 17-21.

Thursday and Mishari slammed Mishal and Buddy 21-15, 21-20 while Karen and Marju lost to Buddy and Laura 13-21, 15-21. Donz and Nori thumped Mishal and Mishari 21-12, 21-19 while King and Karen flattened Ross and Krista 21-12, 21-8.

Thursday and Laura hammered Krista and Maricel 21-16, 21-8 while Donz and Remy outclassed Nuri and Mishal 21-10, 21-16. Karen and Laura were smitten by Thursday and Krista 12-21, 12-21 while King and Nuri prevailed against Donz and Ross 17-21, 21-15, 21-15. Krista and Donz were defeated by Thursday and partner 1521, 16-21 as King and Laura outlasted Remy and Marju 12-21, 21-8, 21-15.
