8 coronavirus related deaths in Philippines closes shopping centers in Manila

MANILA, Mar 14: The 16 mayors of Manila announced a night curfew Saturday and urged shopping centers to close for a month in an attempt to contain the outbreak of corona virus after the Philippines announced an 8 deaths related to corona virus.
TThe Philippine Ministry of Health confirmed three new deaths, including one patient in the southern Philippines, bringing the total number of deaths to eight.
President Rodrigo Duterte lifted the state of health emergency in the country to the highest level and issued quarantine measures in the capital of at least 12 million people.

If all measures are implemented in the Philippine capital, it will be among the most stringent in Asia, and comes at a time when European countries and the United States are making strenuous efforts to contain an epidemic that has killed more than five thousand people around the world.

On Thursday, the President issued restrictions on land and air travel to and from the capital that will come into force on March 15, and extended school closures until April 12. As of Friday, the Philippines had registered 64 cases of Corona virus.
