79% of challenges obstructing ‘development’ plans resolved

KUWAIT CITY, June 11: Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel said 79% of the challenges facing the implementation of the development plans in the past have been resolved, reports Annahar daily. According to the latest official data, these challenges were categorized into 5 main groups, with a total of 567 challenges or 79 percent – associated with the 2018/2019 plan – which have been overcome successfully.

The administrative challenges were 36%, followed by technical challenges of 28%, followed by financial challenges 18%. In contrast, the legislative challenges were the least and accounted for about 3%. The Minister pointed out that the development plan for fiscal 2018/2019 saw the solution of 450 challenges out of the 567; saying 168 of the 203 challenges management challenges of which 83 percent have been solved, while 78 control challenges out of 86 challenges or 91 percent have also been solved.

At the beginning of her tenure as minister, Al-Aqeel had stressed on her intention to complete the implementation of the development plans and to follow them and bring positive results. She stressed that the objectives are clear in the importance of implementing the development and strategies related to the vision of His Highness the Amir of the country to transform the State of Kuwait into a global financial and commercial center in 2035.
