6 expatriates for deportation for driving without driving license

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: As part of the General Traffic Department’s role in ensuring the safety of road users and that everyone observes traffic laws, the Traffic Sector conducted campaigns throughout the six governorates from Sept 26 to Oct 1, 2016. According to a report from the department, these campaigns led to the issuance of 42,383 citations, impounding of 743 vehicles and 17 motorbikes, arrest of 16 individuals who committed major traffic violations, and referral of six expatriates to the Deportation Center for driving without driving license. The department affirmed these campaigns are ongoing round the clock in all parts of the country in a bid to strictly implement the traffic regulations and to protect the road users.

Suicide attempted: A young Kuwaiti woman who attempted to end her life by consuming large quantities of medicine pills inside her home in a suburb of Fahd Al-Ahmad was rushed to Adan hospital and given stomach wash, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, paramedics and police rushed to the spot when the victim’s mother informed the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior. Police are investigating why she wanted to end her life. A case of attempted suicide has been registered against her.

Kuwaiti swindled: Police are looking for two people — a Lebanese and a bedoun — for swindling a Kuwaiti and robbing him, reports Al-Anba daily. The 24-year-old Kuwaiti in his complaint to the police said the suspects made him believe that they were involved in importing cars from Germany and re-selling them for a huge profit. The Kuwaiti fell for the trap and invested KD 16,000 and the suspects after receiving the money disappeared. The names of suspects have been added to the list of people banned from travel.

Furniture stolen: A Kuwaiti has filed a complaint with the Salmiya Police Station accusing his ex-wife of stealing furniture from his apartment while he was abroad, reports Al-Rai daily. The man said he discovered the theft after he returned home. He added, he was informed by the building caretaker that the furniture was taken by his ex-wife. The ex-wife has been summoned for interrogation.
