RIYADH, April 15 (KUNA) -- The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has taken six more lives in the kingdom raising the death toll inflicted by the contagion to 79, official spokesperson of the Saudi Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali, speaking at his daily briefing about the pandemic status in the kingdom, said health authorities recorded 493 new infection cases, bringing whole number of contaminations to 5,862.


Forty-two patients who suffered from infection with the communicable disease recovered, said Dr. Abdulaali adding that the whole number of those who recuperated reached 931.


Seventy-one patients continue to receive "intensive medical care," he elaborated.


The pandemic, which broke out in central China late last year, has mushroomed on a wide scale with reports of casualties on scores of countries throughout the globe.
Nations with advanced medical capacities are struggling to find a vaccine for the epidemic-turned-pandemic.

UAE

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Wednesday, April 15, announced 432 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 5,365.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention expressed its sincere condolences to the families of five expats of different nationalities who tested positive for COVID-19 and died due to complications. This brings total death toll to 33.

The ministry also said that more than 1,034 cases of recoveries have been reported in the country, with the addition of 101 new cases.

Bahrain

Up to 143 people tested positive of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Kingdom of Bahrain bringing total number of such cases to 1,001, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
The ministry said in a statement 998 of these cases were stable and three under intensive care units.
The infections include 128 expatriates, 13 persons who mingled with infected people and two travelers who came from abroad.
Fifteen of the patients recovered, putting the total at 663.

Qatar

Qatar announced, Wednesday, a staggering 283 new cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,711 cases.
According to the Health Ministry, recoveries from the virus were at 33, putting the grand total at 406.
The ministry indicated that the new infections were sent quarantine to receive proper medical.

Oman

Oman confirmed 97 new coronavirus infections, taking the total to 910, said the health ministry Wednesday.
The Omani news agency quoted the ministry as saying that of the total, 131 patients recovered from the virus. The virus has claimed the lives of four people in the Sultanate so far, it added
