454 Expats terminated from Ministry of Electricity

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 31: In compliance with government decisions aimed at implementing the replacement policy including the rules and procedures for the ‘Kuwaitization’ of jobs; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr Muhammad Al-Faris confirmed the termination of 454 expatriate employees in the Ministry of Electricity and their replacement with citizens, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

.The daily obtained a copy of the minister’s response to the question of MP Faraz Al-Daihani, in which he affirmed that the ministry strictly complies with the circulars it receives annually from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) related to the application of the replacement policy in the short and long terms. He said this entails the termination of expatriate employees and then replace them with nationals. He disclosed the number of expatriate workers who have been laid off since the issuance of the decision in 2017 reached 454.
