40 Kuwait Education Ministry administrators to be forced into retirement on Dec 31

New teachers awaiting for approval

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The Ministry of Education has informed 40 administrators working in the Ministry’s general office and educational districts that the date of their compulsory retirement will be on December 31, in compliance with the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the retirement of occupants of supervisory positions who have reached 35 years of age, reports Al-Rai daily.

An educational source told the daily the administrators covered by retirement have served 34 years in supervisory positions, and they are part of the mandatory retirement statement approved for the last fiscal year, and the total covered by it is about 388 male and female employees of educational and administrative positions, pointing to the termination of teachers’ services in Last May, they are the largest group in the survey, with a number of 348 male and female teachers. The source added that the administrative sector has not yet been informed of the jobs that will be frozen for expatriates during the current fiscal year in implementation of the replacement policy in force in the Civil Service Commission, although it is likely that it will not include educational jobs.

Pioneers
Regarding the arrival of the pioneers of new teachers from the outsourcing countries, he indicated that the ministry is waiting for approval from the CSC, which studies each case separately, and then grants the ministry the required approval to issue entry visas to them and set the date of their arrival, likely at the end of this month. He ruled out that the ministry would be able to recruit Palestinian teachers during the first semester because of their large number and the procedures for appointing them, which would take a long time in the CSC.
