386 thefts recorded in govt schools 2017/18 academic year

KUWAIT CITY, March 26: A total of 386 cases of theft in public schools were recorded during the 2017/2018 academic year, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to an official report issued recently, these cases were dealt in a professional manner by social and psychological researchers. As per statistics based on average number of school days, public sector schools have been experiencing about three cases of theft per day.

This should be considered as a warning alarm about the need to take necessary measures for eliminating this serious problem, especially since it is quite widespread among the female students.

The report revealed that 60 percent of the perpetrators of the robberies are female students of various education levels, while 40 percent are male students. Most of the thefts occurred in schools of Farwaniya Educational Zone with 108 cases, followed by Ahmadi with 107 cases, Mubarak Al-Kabeer with 68 cases, Hawally with 53 cases, Jahra with 42 cases and then Capital with only eight cases.
