KUWAIT CITY, Dec 28: The Criminal Court refrained from imposing punishment on 32 Kuwaitis employed in a petroleum company for forging medical reports which they used to apply for sick leave and for receiving their salary fraudulently.

The court ordered these employees to pay fine of KD 500 each and to maintain good conduct. The Public Prosecution conducted investigations and questioned doctors whose stamps appeared on the sick leave forms which were later discovered to be forged, resulting in referral of several employees to the prosecution.

It is worth mentioning that the penalty for falsifying official documents, including sick leave forms, could reach seven years in prison with hard labor.
