KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: An Asian expatriate was arrested in Mahboula area in possession of 181 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling the area when they stopped a vehicle for checking. When they noticed the nervousness of the motorist, they checked the vehicle and found 181 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. When questioned, the suspect confessed that he was planning to sell the liquor to his clients. He was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
Meanwhile, an Indian driver of a Kuwaiti family was arrested in Mangaf area in possession of liquor. Two compatriots who were with him in his employer’s car at the time of arrest managed to escape. In addition, an unidentified individual was arrested in Sabahiya area in possession of a carton of 11 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. Securitymen were patrolling the area when they noticed three individuals sitting behind an electrical transformer. As they approached the individuals, they tried to escape but one of them was arrested. He was referred to the concerned authorities and investigations have been launched to find the remaining two suspects.
Heroin seized: An Egyptian expatriate, who is wanted by the Residency Affairs Department for an absconding report against him, was arrested in Mahboula area in possession of half kilogram of heroin and 6 narcotic pills. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling Mahboula area late night when they noticed the suspect walking and stopped him for checking. When he did not produce his identification documents, they checked him to find the drugs, and a document that verified his nationality.
He was referred to the concerned authority for necessary legal procedures against him. Meanwhile, the officers also arrested two Kuwaiti citizens in a disoriented state and in possession of three cigarettes rolled with hashish and ten narcotic pills in Oyoun area. They were in a pickup van when securitymen stopped them for checking and found the drugs. They were arrested and referred to the concerned authority.
