2,478 expats departed from Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, May 31: Kuwait International Airport witnessed the departure of 2,478 expats of Gulf, Arab and Asian nationalities to their country on 13 flights.

Most of the passengers were visitors from Gulf countries and expats mostly on commercial, tourist and family visas of various nationalities. 6 flights to Cairo and Marsa Alam with a total of 1286 passengers, in addition to the departure of 4 flights to India with 591 passengers, one flight to Manila with 212 passengers, one flight to Doha with 200 passengers, in addition to a flight to Qassim with 189 passengers departed from Kuwait International Airport.

The DGCA carried out strict health procedures implementing social distancing of passengers, the wearing of masks and gloves, checking temperatures for all passengers and applying all safety precautionary measures including setting barriers.

For his part, Director General of the General Administration of Civil Aviation Eng. Yusef Al-Fawzan said that the flight operations have not stopped during coronavirus crisis from Kuwait, but due to some countries which have closed their airports each flight requires prior approval, whether it is departing or coming, indicating that the Civil Aviation Administration is ready for operation for countries that wish to open their airspace to Kuwait Airlines or other national airlines according to mutual understanding . Kuwait International Airport witnesses on daily basis has been witness many departures.
