KUWAIT CITY, May 1: The Kuwait Futsal Federation stated that the national team’s technical staff has chosen 22 players to represent Kuwait in the third Gulf Sports Games hosted by Kuwait in May and the West Asian Championship next June in Saudi Arabia.
The list includes Razan Al-Enezi, Maryam Nour, Laura Al-Thuwaini, Shorouk Pasha, Maryam Baron, Aisha Al-Sabri, Zina bin Salama, Fajr Belbas, Abeer Al-Rifai, Shorouk Kayed, Fajr Ahmed, Nihal Al-Saqabi, Reem Al-Mulla, Laura Ibrahim, Noor Al-Harz, Sheikha Al-Rabban, Yasmine Abdullah, Iman Al-Hayi, Dina Ali and Sheikha Al-Mohammed And Shaima Al-Zamel and Ghala Al-Shammari.
The tournament’s organizing committee had set May 22 as the date for the official opening and closing ceremony of the tournament on the 31st of the same month, while the tournament’s competitions will start from May 13 with group games, as it takes more time to set up than individual games.
The tournament includes 16 different sports, including handball, volleyball, basketball, futsal, swimming, athletics, karate, judo, fencing, archery, tennis, cycling, ice hockey, table tennis and padel, in addition to electronic sports.
For the first time, the tournament will witness the participation of the female component, as the female players will participate in the games of futsal, cycling, athletics, table tennis, basketball, video games and padel.
