2 Syrian teens held for theft

KUWAIT CITY, March 20: Two teenage Syrian expatriates were apprehended for theft by detectives from Farwaniya Security Directorate, says Public Relations and Security Information Department of the Interior Ministry. Acting on several complaints the sector received about two youths on a motorbike specialized in snatching the bags of pedestrians in Farwaniya area, security operatives intensified measures to facilitate their arrest by setting a trap for them. Upon their arrest, the first suspect (16 years old) identified as M.T.H. and his partner (17 years old) identified as S.S.B. confessed to the crime and admitted stealing the motorbike from a fast-food joint located in the area to snatch the bags of unsuspecting victims. They were referred to the concerned authority for necessary legal action.

2 held over kidnap: Police officers from Jahra Security Command arrested a GCC national with a criminal background and a Bedoun as they have been accused of kidnapping a Kuwaiti woman in Saad Al-Abdallah. In details, the accused kidnapped the woman and forced her into a house with the intention of raping her. Luckily, a passer by heard screams coming from the house, so he notified the police officers and gave them the address. The officers rushed to the location and raided the house where they found the suspects with the woman. The two suspects were referred to the concerned authorities and the woman is helping in the investigation.
