2 Kuwaitis held with drugs; Asian liquor peddler caught

KUWAIT CITY, March 5: Two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested for consuming and possessing drugs. According to security sources, securitymen were patrolling Salwa area when they suspected a vehicle with two individuals and ordered the driver to pull over. They checked the details of the two men to discover they are Kuwaiti citizens. Noticing their disoriented state, securitymen checked them to find drug paraphernalia and a cigarette stuffed with a drug substance. The two citizens were arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, Ahmadi securitymen arrested an Asian expatriate in Mahboula area in possession of a number of bottles of locally manufactured liquor. Sources explained that securitymen were patrolling Mahboula area when they noticed a vehicle that sped as soon as the driver saw the patrol vehicle, chased it and ordered the driver to pull over. However, the driver did not pull over, causing securitymen to continue chasing him until they forced him to stop eventually. They checked his details and discovered he is an Asian expatriate. They checked his vehicle and found a number of bottles filled with locally manufactured liquor. He was arrested and referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Drugs on Failaka: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Failaka Island in possession of drugs. According to the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media, Coast Guard officers found 58 pieces of hashish, 25 sachets of 50,000 pills suspected to be narcotic pills and one sachet of a drug suspected to be opium with the suspect in Failaka Island. He was referred with the confiscated drugs to the concerned authorities for further investigations
