KUWAIT CITY, May 7, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti Shooting Club announced Monday that Kuwaiti shooter Abdulrahman Al-Faihan won the gold medal in the men’s trap tourney at His Highness the Amir’s Cup championship which is taking place in Italy while his colleague Sarah Al-Hawal won the silver medal.
The club said in a press statement that Al-Faihan’s win came after beating Stephen Scott from the UK, who finished second, and Italian Marcelo Netarli who came third. In the women’s competition, Ludmila, Russian, came first in place, while Italian Federica Kayosko finished third.
“This achievement underscores the distinction of Kuwait’s shooters and their keenness to raise the fl ag of Kuwait in world championships, especially that this tournament bears the name of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah,” Club’s President Duaij Al-Otaibi said. Al-Otaibi added that these victories were the fruit of tireless efforts exerted by the Kuwaiti shooters, besides the proper planning and training.
