Over 19,000 ‘visas on arrival’ issued

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: Some 758,244 ‘arrival and departure’ passengers passed through Kuwait International Airport last month (November), and the Passport Control Unit detected nine people with forged documents, says General Department of Public Relations and Media Security, says Al-Seyassah.

Authorities stated the overall 398,295 passengers arriving at the airport during the period included 118,675 Kuwaitis, 29,016 GCC nationals, and 250,604 people from different nationalities, while 359,949 passengers departing from the airport consisted of 115,825 Kuwaitis and 218,250 people from different nationalities.

It noted that 19,369 visas were issued to visitors on arrival and 64 people were fingerprinted for deportation, 10 former deportees were allowed entry into the country, and 6 people were found in possession of passports that do not belong to them.
