495 Sri Lankan residence violators depart Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, May 19: Currently 1,592 expats of various nationalities will be departing Kuwait through 9 flights from which some who wish to leave the country and some are residence violators

In the morning, about 14 buses transported 495 violators of Sri Lankan nationality to T4 passenger terminal in preparation for their departure from the country via two flights on Kuwait Airways, as part of amnesty for residence violators who took advantage of amnesty rules set by the Ministry of Interior by exempting fines with a free air ticket. 

A number of departing Sri Lankan community members thanked the Kuwait and its people where one of them said "We thank the government and the Kuwaiti people for the care, housing and food they provided us and their treatment of us as brothers, just as they took good care of us during the prior to travel period, expressing their desire to return again to Kuwait. 

Another said: "Kuwait gave me room and food and everything has been fine ... and God gives you wellness, Thank you Kuwait"

189 Indian expatriates are preparing to leave via Kuwait Airport. Meanwhile the fourth evacuation flight for Lebanese expatriates will depart from Kuwait Airport via Middle East Airlines carrying 153 passengers, including 20 residence violators.
