Over 150 held in raids for wanted, illegals, criminals; Filipina steals cash from salon in Salmiya

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: Officers from the Public Security Sector launched several campaigns in various governorates so far this month, which have resulted in the arrest of 151 wanted people who are involved in cases including absconding cases, 371 violators of residency law and those without any official documents to prove their identity and 41 marginal workers. According to a press release issued by Ministry of Interior, 13 wanted vehicles were discovered, 36 drug-related and eight liquor-related cases were registered 181 quarrels were settled, 2,615 information was received, 1,150 traffic citations were issued and 93 vehicles were seized. In addition, 1,026 requests for assistance were attended to, 944 security checkpoints were set up, 808 traffic accidents were dealt with and 411 other tasks were carried out. Meanwhile, Environment Police Department affiliated to the Public Security Sector carried out all tasks specified in the environment law. They launched an inspection campaign in Salmi area which resulted in the discovery of a number of violations related to bird-hunting. They also discovered 75 nets and 45 traps used for hunting and 120 birds.

Absconders caught: A campaign launched by Farwaniya securitymen in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Farwaniya, and Ardiya Industrial areas resulted in the arrest of 25 expatriate men and women who were reported as absconding and against who arrest orders had been issued, reports Al-Rai daily. The campaign, which lasted for three hours, was based on direct instructions from Major General Saleh Matar Al-Enezi. Securitymen sealed all entries and exits of the targeted areas and set up several checkpoints. In addition, two vehicles were seized during the campaign because of court orders. The arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities.

Cash stolen: A Filipina woman was arrested for stealing KD 550 from a beauty salon in Salmiya area where she works. According to security sources, the Kuwaiti owner of the salon was surprised when she counted the earnings and discovered that KD 550 was missing. When she questioned the workers of the salon, they said they had no idea about the missing about. Since the owner has installed surveillance cameras inside the salon, she saw one of the workers open the till machine and steal the amount. The owner immediately informed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior about the theft after which securitymen rushed to the location and arrested the Filipina woman. She was referred to the police station of the area.
