KUWAIT CITY, March 7: The traffic sector upon instructions and supervision of the Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs, Major-General Jamal Al-Sayegh, Wednesday organized a surprise inspection campaign and issued 1,468 traffic citations including 420 for talking on the hand-held mobile while driving, 621 for failing to fasten seat belt, arrested 3 wanted persons wanted by law and impounded 4 vehicles and towed them to the ministry garage, reports Al- Rai daily.

He told the daily the campaigns are aimed at forcing motorists to commit to the traffic law, especially when it comes to wearing the seat belt and talking on the hand-held phone while driving.

A security source stressed on the need for all motorists to abide by traffic rules and follow the guidelines for their own their safety and prevent road accidents.

On the other hand, the Shuwaikh and Salmiya marine firefighting units, in the presence of the Coast Guard, dealt with a sinking boat in Bneid Al- Qar. The boat was safely brought to the shore without any casualties among the occupants
