Over 1,056 phones, drugs seized in prison raid

Cell phones, chargers, head phones, packets of drugs found with prison inmates were confiscated during the raids

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: Officers from the Jails and Sentences Enforcement General Department at the Interior Ministry, in cooperation with the Drug Control General Department, launched a surprise inspection campaign in the Central Jail.

In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media General Department revealed the campaign led to the confiscation of 1,056 mobile phones, recharge cards and 301 grams of narcotic substances.

The quantity of confiscated items is considered the highest in the history of the jail. This came after investigations proved that there are forbidden items hidden in the cells.
