Kuwaiti shooter Al-Rashidi secures fourth London Olympics slot after winning silver in the 12th Asian Shooting Championship.
Kuwait’s Al-Rashidi qualifies for Olympics

DOHA, Jan 21, (KUNA): Kuwaiti shooter Talal Abdullah Al-Rashidi won silver in the individual’s trap competition of the 12th Asian Shooting Championship thus qualifying for the 2012 London Olympics.
Al-Rashidi is the fourth Kuwaiti shooter to qualify for the summer Olympics. The other three are Abdullah Al-Rashidi in skeet, Fuhaid Al-Daihani in the double-trap and Maryam Erzouqi in the 10m air rifle.
Head of the Kuwaiti team to the Asian championship Mohammad Al-Ghorba, speaking to KUNA, said competition was fierce between the Asian shooting elites.
Although Talal Al-Rashidi won the individual silver medal, the Kuwaiti team won the gold in the teams’ trap event.
Kuwait junior team came third in the teams’ trap competition, said Al-Ghorba.
He said Kuwait would be organizing the upcoming Asian Shooting Championship in 2015.
