‘Probe suicide death of Indonesian maid in police custody’ Eleven illegals among several held

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for General Security Affairs, Major-General Mahmoud Al-Dousari has ordered to open an investigation into the death of an Indonesian maid who is said to have committed suicide when in custody of the Fahaheel Police Station, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources the head of the victim was separated from the torso which shows the victim remained hanged for long hours before the incident was discovered.
A security source said the Director of Security at the Ahmadi Governorate Brigadier Abdullatif Al-Wuhaib had reported Thursday that an Indonesian maid on whom an absconding report had been filed by her sponsor had been arrested by the police.
According to reports she was the only inmate in the cell at the police station. The daily also said when the securitymen found her corpse she was found lying on the prison cell floor head separated from the body.

Several arrested
: During a security campaign personnel from the Farwaniya Security Directorate are said to have arrested several people — 18 of them wanted by the Immigration Investigation Department, 11 for staying in the country after the expiry of the residence permit, six wanted for committing various crimes, 50 who had been sentenced in absentia, and an Egyptian who was wanted in connection with 15 civil cases, reports Al-Anba daily.

Threatening email sent
: An unidentified male student of the Faculty of Basic Education has been summoned by the Dai’ya Police Station for interrogation, reports Al-Rai daily. This happened when one of the teachers complained to the police that the student had sent him a threatening e-mail and called him a biased person.
