Your Highness Crown Prince … this is what to do with people’s demands

YOUR Highness the Crown Prince, Kuwait experienced weakness in recent years because of the confusion resulting from the absence of a proper decision-making mechanism.

Your Highness, you have been living with all the leaders of the country, and you were close to them. You were hearing what was going on in their meetings. You were aware of their decisions, and you also could express your opinion about them without hesitation.

All the people know your vision well … Some of them support it, and others give their opinion about it. You therefore paint the whole picture with a sound opinion and a bold decision.

At the outset, we must thank His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad for choosing Your Highness as the Crown Prince of Kuwait, entrusting the great trust that you are working to fulfill for the future of Kuwait and its people.

This choice was a source of reassurance for all the people who lived through your path in public affairs. They are well aware of how your eyes are open to pursuing all matters, and your ears are attentive to hearing all opinions, as well as how you treat challenges with effective remedy, and prudence of opinion and direction.

Your Highness the Crown Prince, you are well aware that the art of management lies in the art of selecting assistants and advisors, and that the renaissance of states is based on the integration between the leadership’s directives and the performance of officials.

Strong countries were based on the vision of one person who was blessed with strength of will and good choice, and the desire to build a modern state. There are many evidence of this in the region and the world.

Your people have realized your understanding of their grievances, and how you are working to remedy them through the decisions of a leader who seeks to advance a country that has nearly shriveled as a result of the heavy legacy of the past years and the weak performance of the executive authority.

For this reason, please allow us to put before Your Highness some of what Kuwaitis wish to remedy in the coming days, as a result of which the country has suffered due to the domination of a deep state whose main concern was to hold the joints of the state and milk it until its udder dries up.

This happened while governments were resigning from their role, leaving the National Assembly to dominate the institutions, which led to appointments based on loyalty to the one who appointed the officials and not on competence. A good proportion of these people have fake educational certificates.

For the first time in the country, we feel that His Highness the Crown Prince is actively following-up the path of the executive authority. He ordered His Highness the Prime Minister to go out to the people and follow up their affairs and requirements. He ordered ministers to open their doors to the public. Truly, this is in effect in many countries one way or another, and it is known renaissance results achieved by this path.

Your Highness the Crown Prince, many Kuwaitis are aware of how painful it is for you to see some people violating the national identity and the culture of the people of Kuwait, due to the influence of what the people of yesterday are deprived of and the people of today are enjoying, and how that bothers you.

How great is your desire for the people of yesterday, after suffering from the disadvantages of the previous stage, to enjoy a prosperous country before they leave it.

All that is preventing this from happening is a set of old laws. Those who benefit from them are fighting to keep them from being developed and amended because they will lose the benefits and privileges they get.

Nonetheless, as we began to see heads fading and others on the verge of vanishing due to the measures taken so far, the main concern of Kuwaitis today is to have a legislative workshop in the National Assembly to amend and develop those laws.

In this regard, it is very unfortunate that the rate of the staff in state institutions is imbalanced due to the abuses on public money imposed by the previous parliaments, which led to an employee receiving KD 10,000 or KD 20,000 as monthly salary, and enjoying many privileges, starting with the car, phone, travel allowances, and touristic trips, while others with the same job title receive just a tenth of that salary.

In almost all countries of the world, there is a unified system for salaries that does not distinguish between one employee and another.

Those who enjoy these salaries are the cronies of the deep state, and the electoral keys. We realize how worrying this is for your Highness and for the people of Kuwait. Therefore, it has become necessary to work on unifying them and making everyone equal under one rule.

We hear what many of those who meet Your Highness say about your anger at what the social media has become with regard to dishonoring people, defaming them, and throwing arbitrary accusations, especially those who hide their identities.

If what they publish is true, it is easy to treat, and therefore they do not need to hide, but if it is void, the courts are open to all. In Kuwait there are no “morning raids” or secret police who arrest people from their homes.

We know that you are working to fix what has been corrupted by the age of interests and self-seeking, especially in this regard. We now believe you will say that all this is the noise of electronic trolls in which there is no harm, given that in democratic countries, such people do not hide their identities, and no one cares about them.

Your Highness the Crown Prince, everyone has realized the extent of your pain about the failure of previous governments, especially the last one, to seize the opportunity to strengthen the credit rating, and to borrow from international bodies to use those funds to enhance the state’s sovereign assets, both internally and externally. This had eventually led to the decline of the sovereign rating, and the deficit in the state budget, followed by the many statements about the imminent depletion of financial reserves.

Also, these governments referred the reason to the National Assembly and rejected it, illustrating the matter as if there are 51 Amirs in Kuwait with the legitimate one being in Bayan Palace, and the other 50 in the parliament. Everyone knows that there is only one Amir and one Crown Prince in Kuwait, and they are the executive decision-makers.

Your Highness the Crown Prince, this is just the tip of the iceberg of what Kuwaitis suffer from. Because they have great faith that their historic opportunity is with this political leadership and Your Highness, they put before you some of their problems and aches. God knows that it is the first time in decades that they feel they are under the protection of a ruler who orders and initiates firm decision-making mechanisms, and follows up to check the pulse of Kuwait and its people.
