KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Hussein Al- Azmi, who currently heads the Federation of Workers Unions in the Government Sector and the Workers Union at the Ministry of Health, has appealed to His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah to reconsider Civil Service Commission (CSC) Circular No. 9/2024 on the obligatory third attendance fingerprint during official working hours due to the negative consequences.
In a press statement, Al- Azmi argued that the third attendance fingerprint will neither contribute to the advancement and success of the workplace nor guarantee employees’ commitment to the official working hours; as it is rather a major cause of confusion and dysfunction in government agencies with a special nature of work -- medical, field and technical. He pointed out that goals and innovation at work will be achieved only through the dedication and outstanding performance of employees, instead of imposing administrative and financial restrictions that destabilize the workplace.
He stressed that government agencies; such as ministries, institutions, and entities in successful countries focus on achievements, creativity, improving productivity and job performance, developing labor affairs systems, encouraging national workers to gain more experience and skills, building trust between the direct supervisor and employees, generating opportunities for constructive competition at the workplace, and creating a safe work environment
