KUWAIT CITY, Sept 9: The Women's Housing Affairs Committee at the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has detected violations involving unlicensed activities in rental housing in the Taima and Sulaibiya areas and pledged strict measures to address them.
The committee, chaired by Sheikha Bibi Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, said in a press statement Monday that encroachments included unauthorized commercial activities, bachelor housing, and repair workshops. It affirmed its cooperation with relevant authorities to remove all illegal practices and ensure proper residential use of the housing.
Supervised field teams continue to conduct inspections in the affected areas, the committee noted, stressing that any unauthorized housing expansions will result in new violations and the immediate withdrawal of permits. It underlined its commitment to safeguarding decent living standards for families benefiting from rental housing.
The committee added that eligible residents of Taima and Sulaibiya will be relocated to newly designated women’s rental housing once projects are completed, provided that current units are handed over in good condition.
It urged beneficiaries to update their data promptly and follow official PAHW accounts for housing updates. The committee also confirmed ongoing coordination with specialized PAHW sectors to finalize infrastructure documents for both areas and accelerate their implementation.
