KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20:  In a dramatic security sweep, police patrols in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh uncovered two vehicles stuffed with liquor, after their occupants fled on foot, leaving behind both cars and contraband.

According to a security source, the first incident unfolded when a patrol noticed a four-wheel drive idling suspiciously in a school parking lot. As officers approached, the driver suddenly bolted into nearby houses, managing to vanish. When police searched the vehicle, they discovered 109 bottles of imported liquor hidden inside. The car’s ownership was traced through the General Traffic Department, and detectives are now pursuing the registered owner for questioning.

West Abdullah Al-Mubarak locally brewed alcohol

In a second, almost identical case, another patrol from West Abdullah Al-Mubarak Police Station stopped a suspicious saloon car in the same area. The driver (believed to be Asian) abandoned the vehicle and escaped on foot. Officers were stunned to find 47 bottles of locally brewed liquor packed inside. The vehicle was impounded, and its owner was identified for investigation.

Both cases have been handed over to detectives, who are preparing to refer the suspects to the Public Prosecution on charges of possession with intent to traffic.
