Wheel-Clamped in Kuwait? Here’s What You Must Do After Paying the Fine

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: Kuwait’s General Directorate of Traffic has outlined the procedures for removing a wheel clamp (wheel lock) placed on vehicles over traffic violations, following payment of the applicable fine.

Motorists must first pay the traffic fine through the Sahel application, the Ministry of Interior application, or by visiting the General Directorate of Traffic and completing the payment through the approved procedures. After payment, the receipt must be clearly placed on the vehicle’s windshield. The vehicle owner should then contact the Traffic Directorate through its dedicated WhatsApp number 99324092 so that the necessary procedures can be completed to remove the wheel clamp.

The Directorate said that if a vehicle falls or the wheel clamp is involved in an incident, motorists must immediately call 112, wait for the traffic patrol to arrive, and not attempt to move or handle the vehicle themselves. It also warned that anyone who breaks or damages the wheel-clamp device will face the necessary legal action.

The Traffic Directorate urged motorists to comply with traffic laws and instructions, stressing that adherence to regulations contributes to enhancing traffic safety and protecting all road users.
