KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: The West Asian Fencing Championship for the youth is set to begin in Jordan, and will run until September 2. Hamad Al-Awadhi, Secretary of the Kuwait Fencing Federation and Chairman of the National Teams Committee announced that Kuwait will participate with 26 male and female athletes competing in saber, foil, and epee categories. The team, led by national coaches Qaisar Al-Zamel and Abdulaziz Awad, aims to secure top positions and achieve first-place finishes across all championship events.
Al-Awadhi emphasized that the Federation's comprehensive talent development plan, designed to discover and nurture champions, has significantly boosted Kuwait's presence in international, regional, and continental fencing championships. This plan is vital for enhancing the sport’s development and fostering competitiveness on the global stage. He added, "We are committed to preparing a distinguished generation of talented youth and anticipate continued success in upcoming international competitions. We will ensure they are fully equipped with everything needed to excel and achieve success."
