Amidst the perils that Kuwait has been facing, numerous virtues have emerged in this nation, which remains devoted to the homeland and its people.
Such virtues have established the foundation of the State, creating an unparalleled paradigm of cohesion between the leadership and its people. There is an unshakeable conviction among everyone that this nation serves as the ultimate and eternal sanctuary, a sentiment shared by those who have embraced it as their second home.
Consequently, there is a collective obligation to strive for its preservation and protection, as stability fosters the security and prosperity for the benefit of the entire community. Five weeks have passed since the start of the conflict, instigated by a malevolent and terrorist neighbor that designated the Arab Gulf states, including Kuwait, as its war theater. Its motivations are purely driven by a desire to unleash a deep-seated historical animosity.
However, it is foundering and shall continue to do so, just as it failed before. Since it has failed to internalize the lessons of history, it remains oblivious to the remarkable resilience and unyielding will of the Kuwaiti and Gulf peoples in facing daunting challenges. Within the borders of Kuwait, these trying circumstances have illuminated the true character of our men, the valiant armed forces in various command units – the Kuwait Army, the Kuwait National Guard, police and security officers, and the dedicated personnel at the civil defense and fire departments. These are the people of Kuwait – citizens who offer themselves for their country and spare no effort in protecting it. They are the shining examples that constitute our collective pride and glory.
Throughout the difficult days, these forces and units have been standing as the vigilant guardians of our territory, our honor and our national institutions. They deserve our deep gratitude, and beyond that, our highest accolade. Simultaneously, the steadfastness of our national position is mirrored at the home front, where citizens, expatriates and stateless Bedouns showed unwavering loyalty to this land. The inhabitants of Kuwait recognize the immense value of safety and security, understanding that this nation deserves the preservation of its stability. We must also acknowledge the existence of a minority who, blinded by their allegiance to the enemy, established subversive cells under various pretexts.
These individuals will undoubtedly be held accountable, each of them facing justice according to the severity of their crime. Kuwaiti justice remains impartial, ensuring that they are punished as per the law. The aspiration of all Kuwaitis is that no leniency is shown to these elements, as any form of mercy could catalyze for others to undermine national stability and security. Decisive punishment is the only effective remedy for preserving the homeland. The people of such nations deserve comprehensive care and respect, for they have acted as an impenetrable bulwark against an enemy seeking to sow discord and break the social fabric. Every segment of the Kuwaiti society has proven its loyalty to the nation.
This country, which has endured major trials, cannot be undermined by any power, regardless of its perceived strength. It remains steadfast amidst adversities. It transforms challenges into opportunities, striving for even greater accomplishments. Perhaps, the upcoming days will bring tidings. Throughout this protracted journey, mistakes are inevitable. Rectifying errors once the crisis ends will provide the greatest momentum for strengthening unity between the people and the leader of this great nation – the one who raises the banner of national pride.
