KUWAIT CITY, June 23 – The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has announced a significant increase of more than 85% in Kuwait’s strategic water reserves, underscoring the nation’s stable water security and the ministry’s preparedness to meet current and future demand.
According to official sources, water production and distribution operations are proceeding smoothly across the country, with no reported disruptions. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a reliable supply for all sectors. “The water delivered to households undergoes continuous and rigorous monitoring, conducted around the clock, to ensure it meets the highest international standards for quality and safety,” sources said, adding that testing confirms 100% compliance with global specifications.
Water samples are regularly collected from various networks and production facilities and are analyzed in state-of-the-art laboratories operated by the ministry. These advanced facilities help detect and eliminate any potential impurities or pollutants, ensuring public health is fully protected.
In a parallel initiative, the ministry has also formed an executive committee to deploy field teams responsible for monitoring compliance with national energy-saving directives. These teams will inspect institutions such as schools, mosques, and other public service providers to ensure adherence to government-mandated measures aimed at reducing electrical load, particularly during peak hours.
Officials described rationalized consumption as “a strategic and effective solution” to the ongoing challenge of electrical overload. They emphasized that simple conservation efforts could significantly contribute to the sustainability of the national power grid, helping to maintain uninterrupted electricity services across all sectors. The ministry is also ramping up public awareness campaigns to promote a culture of conservation, while simultaneously investing in the expansion of power generation capabilities. Cutting-edge technologies are being adopted to meet growing demand, especially in light of Kuwait’s rapid urban development and the transformative changes underway across its governorates.
